#MeetCorroventa: Magnus Henriksson

  • Magnus Henriksson, R&D Engineer, Bankeryd Sweden

Magnus Henriksson works with R&D at Corroventa’s headquarters in Bankeryd, Sweden. He has a background in machine engineering, working with lawn mowers and avionics. In 2012 he wanted new challenges and thought it would be exciting to go from working at a larger corporation to Corroventa. Said and done, now Magnus has been working with Corroventa for eight years and enjoys being able to develop a product from start to finish.

Can you describe a regular day at work?

My team at R&D are responsible for product range development, updates and improvements. We find new ways of enhancing the way in which we produce our machines.

We are in close contact with our suppliers to ensure quality and optimize our designs. We also work with technical support.

Another important part of our work is to test and verify our products. We have an R&D lab where we build prototypes, perform tests and verify that the machines have correct performance. We have to make sure that everything is according to our requirements and quality standards. We also perform long-term testing, sometimes in collaboration with our partners.

Certain periods, it is a lot of CAD work, where we create 3D models, drawings and other manufacturing documentation for new machines.

Do you have a special memory from your time at Corroventa?

Working with our condensing dryers. It was a new technology back then, and one of the challenges was to solve the modularity. We have a several different models based on the same components. My colleagues Henrik and Martin worked with the cooling technique, and I was responsible for the mechanics.

What is the best about your role and working for Corroventa?

Good colleagues, and short decision making processes. I enjoy getting to have overall responsibility for a product here. At a larger corporation, you usually just work with a part of the machine whereas here, you get to work with the entire machine from start to finish.

Corroventa is constantly investing in new products, there is a positive atmosphere and a future-optimism.

Name 3 things that people don’t know about you?

We have a small family farm where I occasionally work in the forest. I don’t get to do it that often, but it’s quite enjoyable when it happens.

My wife and I have renovated three houses by ourselves: our old house in Stockholm, our current home, and our summer cottage. I am interested in energy issues and have a dream to someday build a new energy-efficient house, perhaps completely self-sufficient.

I worked at SAS before, and got a flight technician certificate for service and maintenance of three different types of airplanes. With that came the perk of using a flight simulator – that was quite a fun experience.
